Step by step
Step 1
In a bowl put flour, salt and baking powder, mix well then add feta cheese given through a larger grater, or finely chopped with a fork.
Step 2
Mix all dry ingredients well with a spoon. Now add the yogurt and incorporate it with a spoon in the flour and telemea composition.
Step 3
Then, when the crust begins to thicken, knead it with your hands until it forms a soft and slightly sticky dough.
Step 4
Then place the dough ball on the table well sprinkled with flour and knead a little more, about 1-2 minutes, to even out the dough and not be sticky on top.
Step 5
Let it rest for 10 minutes then divide it into 6 pieces of dough and form 6 balls out of them. Don't forget to sprinkle flour while working with the dough. Let these balls rest on the table for another 5-10 minutes.
If you want fewer pies, reduce the ingredients proportionally, let 3-4 balls come out and then make them faster.
Step 6
Then take a ball of dough, flatten it a little with your hands through the flour.
Step 7
Then with a spatula spread the dough a little, to be about 8-10mm thick. Do not make them thinner, because they will not be so fluffy, they will dry a lot when fried. With a fork, prick the cake well on the entire surface.
Step 8
While you are making the cake, put a pan on the fire to heat it, add a little oil and put the first cake formed there.
While the cake is frying in the pan, prepare the next one and leave it on the table, and so on until you make them all.
Step 9
Fry the cakes over medium to low heat, you will notice that they swell a little, periodically check if they have browned underneath.
Step 10
When they are well browned on one side, turn them over and also fry the other side.
Step 11
Take them out on a plate, while frying them, put them all on top of each other, so that they steam and are soft. You will notice that I made 6 balls but in the picture I have 5 cakes - one was eaten by my husband as soon as he entered the door when he came from work, then he waited well until I served dinner and I took the pictures for the site :)
Step 12
Here you can see in the section how fluffy they are.
They are delicious hot or on the second day (if they remain) heated in the microwave. I recommend you to try them.
Good appetite!
