Step 1

Drain the onion well from the vinegar and distribute it evenly over the meat.

The next layer is grated potatoes. Level and distribute evenly.

Grease the potatoes with plenty of mayonnaise.

Arrange the egg halves evenly over the salad.

Put the cheese through the smallest grater, to be plentiful and just above the salad - it's more even that way. You can let it penetrate for 1-2 hours, but it is not mandatory.
