Lebanese Fattoush Salad
With the arrival of the green season, if you're looking to add some variety to your usual salads, try out this Lebanese Fattoush Salad. It's deliciously crunchy, aromatic, and flavorful.
You'll find many Fattoush salad recipes online, and you can adapt it based on what's in your fridge or available at the market. I've opted for a simpler version, using sumac, an aromatic spice that imparts a tangy flavor common in Middle Eastern dishes. Sumac is available at butcher shops or Middle Eastern stores, or you can substitute with extra lemon juice if needed.
However, the highlight of this salad is the crispy pita chips, you can find the recipe for these on our site.

Step by step
Step 1
This is what sumac looks like. You can find it in any Turkish or Arabic store, or purchase it from online spice retailers.
Step 2
In a large bowl, tear the lettuce leaves into smaller pieces.
Step 3
Add chopped tomatoes, onions, and finely chopped parsley to the bowl.
Step 4
In a small bowl, combine olive oil with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, salt, and crushed garlic for the dressing.
Step 5
Drizzle the dressing over the vegetables, then sprinkle with a pinch of sumac (be careful not to overdo it, as too much can make the salad too tangy).
Adjust with more lemon, sumac, or salt as desired.
Step 6
Before serving, add the crispy pita chips, which are the most delightful part of this salad.
Step 7
Enjoy your Fattoush Salad!
