Today I show you another Indian recipe that I am very excited about and I have already repeated it about 4 times in the last 2 weeks. It is from the same friend from India, so a household recipe, tested, without many complications but with a more than excellent result.
A good solution if you don't feel like making homemade bread, but you want something good, healthy and fast for family meals. Sofia eats them without anything, they are also good for making some more interesting sandwiches, homemade shaorma or simply for eating them with some delicious sauce.
In a deeper bowl, mix the flour and baking powder.
With baking soda it comes out a little softer, but it doesn't swell so well - so experiment and choose the option you like.
Add milk and yogurt, mix with a spatula or spoon.
Add another 100 ml of water if you notice that the dough is more floury.
It is very important to make the dough soft.
Continue to knead the dough in the bowl with your hands.
Or take it out on the table sprinkled with flour and knead well to make a uniform and soft dough - along the way add more flour so that it does not stick to your hands and table.
Let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes - cover with a towel or plastic wrap so it doesn't dry out.
Then knead it once more, for about 5 minutes.
Divide the dough into 16 uniform pieces and make them into balls. Place on the table and cover with foil so that it does not dry out.
After 5 minutes you start to stretch them with the twister, make circles about 1.5 mm thick.
At the same time, heat an older pan well, without oil!
And put the glues one by one to bake, over medium heat.
You will notice how they start to swell.
And more and more.
I admit that at the first 2 series of glues they didn't swell so nicely - but it didn't influence the taste and texture much.
These puffs show that the dough is well made.
They turn on the other side when they turn brown (some slightly brown spots appear).
And notice that it swells even more, they are made like pillows :)
Along the way, take them out and put them under a towel.
For those who do not have problems with cholesterol, they can be greased hot with a little butter, they will be even more delicious.
This is how you bake all the sticks, serve them hot or if they remain for the second day, keep them in a bag, so that they do not dry out.
And here a quick, simple and very good dessert - the "grandmother's" brand - POPPY CAKES
The glues are broken into small pieces, poppy seeds are added according to preferences and nuts, raisins, etc.
Make half a glass of syrup - hot water mixed with sugar, honey or brown sugar (I put this and it was the browner syrup), vanilla, cinnamon.
Pour this syrup over the poppy seeds, mix well and let it penetrate for about 10-15 minutes.
You are ready to serve and enjoy :)
Good appetite!
