I really like the appetizers that are so simple to put on a plate, by the way they look, they don't even have to be arranged and beautified. And this roll is from the same category, in addition it is so easy to prepare, even salmon in case of a more economical roll can be replaced with some ham.
In about 15 minutes of preparation you have a beautiful, delicious and unusual appetizer. I recommend you to try it.
The longest thing here in the recipe is melting the cheese. You can do it in 2 ways:
- Put it in a bowl in a bain-marie, until it melts completely
- or in 3 rounds of 1 minute each in the microwave (I did so)
Stir gently after each melting round, so that you don't have whole pieces of cheese among the melted ones.
That's how melted cheese should be ready for rolling.
Lay on the table 2 pieces of food foil, slightly stacked on top of each other. Pour the cheese on the foil, with a spoon lightly spread it to be rectangular and about 6-7 mm thick.
Arrange the smoked salmon pieces side by side on the entire surface.
And roll tight.
Wrap the roll in cling film, tighten it tightly at the ends and press lightly with your hands to even out and round it.
Put the roll on a bottom and leave in the fridge for at least 4-5 hours, or preferably overnight.
After this time, cut it and simply arrange it on a plate. For me it was a discovery how well the salmon cheese fits, it "kisses" perfectly in this roll.
And here with dried apricot slices - also a good and interesting taste. You can make trays combined with various cheese rolls.
So you can do with:
- salmon
- ham
- dried fruits / apricots
- mix of nuts with mayonnaise and garlic
etc.
Good appetite!
