Step by step
Step 1
Begin by thoroughly washing and cleaning the mushrooms. If small, keep them whole; if large, cut into quarters or halves.
Place them in a deep pan.
Step 2
Peel and crush the garlic over the mushrooms. Add vinegar, oil, salt, sugar, and spices.
Step 3
Place the pan on medium heat and cover with a lid.
Step 4
Once boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 5
After 5 minutes, turn off the heat. Stir the mushrooms well and allow the mixture to cool thoroughly.
Step 6
Once cooled, refrigerate to marinate for at least 4 hours. You can keep them in the pan or transfer to jars for compact storage.
These mushrooms can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 months, though they're usually enjoyed quickly!
Step 7
Serve as a delightful appetizer, garnished with chopped greens and/or onions.
