Step 1
While the apple pie dough is thawing, you will need to prepare the apple filling.
Wash the apples, peel them and grate them (including the peel) in a deep saucepan or pan.
Pour half a cup of water, 1 cup of sugar and cook it over medium heat until reduce the juice.

After the liquid evaporates from the apples, you can add cinnamon, chopped walnuts and whatever you prefer.
I like the aroma of apples and rarely add other flavors.

Grease a tart pan or pizza tray with oil.

Spread the apple composition over the dough, level well.

From the leftover French dough, cut thin strips with a knife.

Place these long, thin strips of dough over the apples.
Step 9
Form the top of the pie, grease with egg yolk and leave in the oven until browned.
Step 10
Remove the apple pie from the oven, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Allow to cool and slice.
