A classic beef salad, very tasty, which I learned in the Romanian version, with pickles, and seems to me the most successful. I've seen many beef salad recipes where green peas are also used, but I still prefer not to. So, it's optional - do as you like and as you're used to.
Wash well and boil the potatoes, the carrots and the celery. After boiling for about 30 minutes, cool them in cold water and peel.
Cook the pork/beef meat. Because it takes longer - 1 hour or 1 hour and a half, it would be good to prepare it in advance. Or, if you want faster, use chicken breast, it only needs 30 minutes to boil.
Cut all the vegetables, the pickles and the meat into small cubes and place in a larger bowl.
Prepare homemade mayonnaise, or you can use the store-bought one (in this case the taste of the salad changes a lot, depending on its quality).
For this salad, I recommend using homemade mayonnaise.
Add the mayonnaise to the finely chopped ingredients.
Mix very well, season with salt. If you like it more sour, you can add more pickles.
Arrange the salad on a plate, garnish with pickles, olives etc.
It's tastier if served after 2-3 hours, when all the flavors have blended in.
Enjoy!
