A delicious russian pie with chicken and sour cream filling, very interesting appetizer, good for breakfast, a snack or for a lunch with guests. It is the best chicken pie recipe I ever did, so I really recommend you to try it.
Remove the butter from the refrigerator, cut it into cubes and let it soften for 10-15 min.
Add the flour, baking soda and 1 teaspoon of salt
Knead all ingredients, then add 200g sour cream and knead again.
Place the dough in a refrigerator until preparing the filling.
Slice the onions.
Put the onion slices in a skillet drizzled with oil, cook until the colour shifts to yellow, but don't brown them.
After cooking, remove the onions from oil and put them in a dish. You will use the onion oil to cook the chicken afterwards.
Chop the boneless chicken breast into small cubes.
Cook them in the onion oil for a few minutes but don't let to get brown.
Remove the oil and mix the cooked chicken with onions, 3 tbs sour cream, 1 tsp salt and pepper.
This mixture will be the filling of the pie.
The dough is divided into one1/3 and one 2/3 pieces.
The 2/3 piece is spread out in a tray up to its edges.
Pour the filling over the dough.
From the other 1/3 piece of dough make the second sheet, spread it over the filling and grease it with egg yolk.
Place in oven for about 1 hour, until well browned.
Remove the pie from oven, let cool slightly.
It is delicios, and it can be served hot or cold.
Bon Appetite!
