One of the classic pizza recipes, super tasty, yet simple - a crucial detail when it comes to pizza is avoiding topping it with everything one could possibly find in the fridge. Instead, make combinations and you will notice that the result can be delicious even when you use fewer, but well chosen ingredients.
We simply devoured Pizza Capriciosa, the mushrooms were the perfect complement to the ham. As for the tomato sauce, I would suggest making it at home (I will explain how at step 1) or, at least, using a good quality ketchup, if you don't have much time.
For the homemade tomato sauce(Marinara Sauce):
-heat some olive oil in a pan, add 5 crushed cloves of garlic and let it for no more than 10 seconds
-then add the canned tomatoes and let simmer for 15 minutes; season with salt and basil (fresh or dried) and simmer for another 5 minutes.
While the dough is resting, we prepare the ingrediends for the topping:
-wash and slice the mushrooms
-cut the ham the way you like, not too thick, though and slice the olives.
Arrange the first pizza dough on a pan already greased with oil.
Spread a few spoons of tomato sauce on it.
Scatter the grated or sliced cheese.
And the slices of ham on top of the cheese.
Next, the mushrooms and the olives.
Keep in mind that the topping is for 2 pizzas, so make sure you split the quantities evenly.
Bake it for 30 minutes, in a pre-heated oven to 180 degrees C.
I usually let it in the pan for 10 more minutes, before transfering it on the plate.
Enjoy!
