Today I want to show you a very simple and quick method to prepare potatoes roasted in the oven, without having to boil or fry them beforehand. You can replace the ham with bacon, or with any sausage you have at hand, but I also think you could make without.
You'll notice in this recipe for oven roasted potatoes that I use breadcrumbs but I'm thinking of skipping them next time. They seem to give the potatoes an interesting texture, but I wouldn't say it's very obvious.
Otherwise, it's a fast, delicious, simple food from ingredients at hand. You must try it!
In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs, 2 teaspoons of paprika, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1 teaspoon of salt.
If you are using crushed garlic, don't put it here, add it to the potatoes.
Peel and wash the potatoes, then cut into medium pieces - quarters or larger cubes.
Over the potatoes pour the oil (and add crushed garlic, if you are using it like this). Toss.
Then add the dried spices with breadcrumbs from step 1, mix everything well with a spoon.
Move everything into a deep pan and place in the preheated oven at 220 C for 20-30 minutes.
After this time, check with a knife if the potatoes are soft and cooked through.
If the knife doesn't enter easily, leave in the oven until they are done. The cooking time can be different, depending on the potatoes variety or the power of the oven.
When potatoes are done, arrange the ham cut into small pieces on top.
And the cheese grated on the large holes side.
Leave the pan in the oven for another 10 minutes.
Serve right away with your favorite salad or pickles.
Enjoy!
