French Yogurt Cake
I came across this yogurt cake recipe the other day and it immediately caught my attention. Besides the fact that it is prepared very quickly (there are 8 steps in the recipe!), it is also cheap, simple and with a surprisingly good result. I took my inspiration from a lady who lives in France. She calls it "Gateau au Yaourt" and says it's the French favorite weekend loaf.
The children and my husband really appreciated this yogurt cake, I was really curious so I made them try it (I'm on a diet and I'm not allowed, so I can't express myself :). So, trust their taste and be sure to try the recipe!
Interesting in the recipe is the fact that all the ingredients are measured with the same cup. Use the small yogurt cup if you want a smaller loaf or a simple cup like mine (I had yogurt in a large bucket) for a regular loaf.

Step by step
Step 1
Notice how I prepare the ingredients in glasses of the same size, here is oil, yogurt and sugar.
Step 2
In a large bowl combine yogurt, oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Beat well with a whisk or a spoon.
Step 3
Add 3 glasses of flour and baking powder.
Step 4
Mix well until there are no more lumps. Batter is ready now!
Step 5
Pour it into a loaf tin (here 35x11cm) lined with baking paper.
Step 6
Bake for 30-40 minutes at 180 degrees C, check for doneness with a toothpick.
Step 7
Remove from the oven, let sit in the tin for 15 minutes. Then, carefully pull the paper and lift out to cool onto a towel/holder.
Step 8
It's good either hot or cold, depending on your time and patience :)
Enjoy!
