Today I present to you one of the recipes with shrimp that I cook most often. From here, you can further improvise some pasta with shrimp and sour cream sauce. They are great with rice or simply with some fresh bread. I cooked the recipe at a few culinary workshops and it was received with lots of praise, so it's been tested on many people, not only the ones at home.
This shrimp recipe with white sauce is very quick and simple. The most complicated is finding the shrimp at a decent price and preferably clean. I usually buy frozen shrimp, per kg, defrost and cook quickly. But when I feel like having something really fine, I play with the fresh shrimp, cleaned by us and definitely bought from stores with permanent delivery.
This time I bought frozen shrimps, so I thawed, washed and drained well.
If you have fresh shrimps, clean them, wash and drain well.
Peel and wash the onion, garlic and parsley.
Use a semi-dry white wine for the recipe, I had a Sauvignon-Blanc.
To make things work better, you can also taste it :)
Now we actually get to work. Finely chop the onion and garlic. Place them separately, we won't cook them together.
Of course, some chopped parsley, for flavor and color.
In a pan, heat the butter well with the olive oil.
Add the chopped onion, stir and cook until lightly brown.
Then add the garlic in, mix and cook for 1 minute, no more!
Now add the shrimp, fry for 5 minutes over high heat and stir frequently.
Pour the wine, mix and simmer for another 5 minutes over high heat.
After this time, pour in the cream, stir and cook for another 5 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper to taste, sprinkle with chopped parsley and the food is ready.
This creamy shrimp can be served as such, with some fresh bread, or with pasta, rice, couscous etc.
Enjoy!
