This chicken recipe is a great treat for me! If you are left without ideas, you're bored with all the food and you want new sensations, try the Turkish style baked chicken recipe. You can use any part you like, bone-in or boneless. I usually cook boneless, skinless thighs and chicken breast. It's extraordinarily good and I've already cooked it over 10 times in the last few months, but I'm still salivating at the thought of making it one more time :)) And it's a pretty light chicken recipe, I used skinless meat, and only 1 tablespoon of oil per 1-2 kg of meat.
For many, lots of the ingredients here will not be a novelty, but my great discovery was the cinnamon which gave the chicken a very good flavour. Don't hesitate, you must use it!
Prepare the chicken. I usually leave the thighs simple (boneless and skinless) but I cut the chicken breast into thinner slices, to be more tender.
Add cinnamon, ground white / black pepper and salt.
Mix well, it's better with your hands, to coat the chicken well on all sides.
In a small bow, combine lemon juice, crushed garlic, grated ginger or powder and olive oil.
Stir well with a teaspoon.
Pour this mixture over the meat.
Add the yogurt.
Mix well.
Cover the bowl with a lid and allow to marinate for 2-8 hours.
I admit that I had 1-2 cases when I baked the chicken right away, but it's better to marinate in advance, even leave overnight.
After this time, arrange the meat in a large tray and bake in the preheated oven at 200 degrees C for 45 minutes.
When it's brown and beautiful, remove from the oven.
Serve with your favorite garnish. Also, it's perfect with a salad and basmati rice or cooked in a more interesting way, with lemon and cinnamon.
Enjoy!
