Whip up this delicious and easy Chinese-style chicken recipe that's simple to make at home without needing any fancy ingredients. All you need is soy sauce to give the chicken its signature Chinese flavor. You can use any cut of chicken, bone-in or boneless. In this version, we're using boneless chicken legs.
Wash the chicken thoroughly, place it in a bowl, and pour the soy sauce over it.
Stir and let it marinate for at least 3 hours.
After marination, prepare the meat. Pour oil into a pan, add 2 tablespoons of sugar, and heat until well heated.
Stir the sugar periodically until it transforms into a caramelized texture.
Carefully add the marinated chicken to the hot pan, being cautious of the hot oil. It's recommended to lower the heat 2 minutes before adding the chicken.
Stir and cook for about 5 minutes.
Notice how the chicken pieces firm up and tighten.
Cover the meat in the pan with boiling water.
Bring it to a boil over high heat.
As the water evaporates, the chicken will begin to brown. Stir periodically to ensure an even browning.
Once done, turn off the heat.
Serve the chicken with your favorite side dish.
Enjoy your meal!
