Welcome to the delightful world of apple desserts! In this season of abundant apples, I'm excited to share a variety of delicious cake and apple pie recipes with you. Starting with this scrumptious Layered Apple Pie, it's a delightful treat that's sure to impress. Whether served warm or cold, it's a family favorite that everyone will savor.
In a bowl, combine the egg, sour cream, and 1 tablespoon of melted butter.
Gradually add flour to the mixture and knead to form a dough.
The dough should be soft yet non-sticky. Wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, wash and core the apples. Slice them thinly and place in a bowl.
Optionally, sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
Divide the dough into 6 equal portions.
Roll out each portion into a 28cm diameter circle, matching the size of your round oven tray.
If using a silicone tray, no lining is needed.
Begin layering the pie: place a dough sheet in the tray, lightly brush with butter, sprinkle with sugar, and cover with a layer of apple slices. Repeat this process with the next four dough sheets.
For the final layer, brush the dough with a little butter, omitting apples and sugar.
Bake the pie in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for 35-40 minutes.
After baking, cover the pie with a towel to cool, then transfer from the pan to a plate.
Garnish the cooled pie with powdered sugar.
Serve warm or cold, as is or with a scoop of ice cream or vanilla cream.
Enjoy your homemade Layered Apple Pie!
