These delicious meatballs feature a sauce that is rich, slightly sticky, and bursting with garlic and tomato flavors. A helpful tip is to prepare and freeze the cooked meatballs ahead, allowing you to swiftly whip up the sauce and cook the meatballs when you're short on time.

Step by step

Step 1

Place the breadcrumbs (or 2 slices of bread) in a bowl and pour in the milk, allowing them to soak for 10 minutes to fully soften.

Mince the meat, then combine it with eggs, softened breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, salt, pepper, and your preferred spices.

Mix thoroughly with your hands until the texture is uniform.

Shape the mixture into meatballs and arrange them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 15 minutes in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius.

In a bowl, combine the ketchup, soy sauce, and sugar (or honey).

Melt the butter in a deep pan, add the crushed or finely chopped garlic and cook for 10-15 seconds, ensuring it does not burn.

Pour the sauce from step 5 over the garlic, stir, and simmer for 3-4 minutes.

Add the meatballs to the sauce, mix, and allow it to simmer until the sauce thickens.
