This delightful dish is both easy to prepare and a notch above the typical baked chicken. The chicken is tender and juicy with a flavorful, aromatic crust. Even Sofia noticed its wonderful aroma, proclaiming its deliciousness and requesting more.
Use caution with the number of lemon slices placed on the meat, as they can impart a slightly bitter taste. While it was edible, the flavor could be perfected with fewer slices.
Wash the chicken and place it in an oven tray, there's no need to grease the tray with oil.
Sprinkle salt, pepper, paprika, and crushed garlic over the meat, mix thoroughly using your hands to ensure all pieces are well-coated with spices.
Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon over the chicken.
Pour the yogurt or kefir over the chicken and mix well to incorporate.
Pay attention to this step:
- Avoid placing the drained lemon slices back on the chicken.
- If you prefer a subtle lemon flavor, use no more than 2 slices.
I used them all, resulting in a slightly bitter taste.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180-200 degrees Celsius for 40 minutes.
Allow it to develop a beautiful crust on top before removing.
Serve with your choice of garnish—vegetables, rice, potatoes, etc.
Enjoy your meal!
