This pie features a delightful combination of simple ingredients and quick-to-make dough. It's straightforward and ideal both as a meal or an attractive appetizer for guests.
The pie is not only delicious and visually appealing but was also highly praised by my husband. This recipe is a keeper for sure.
Mix the meat with salt, optionally adding 1 egg and spices to taste.
Shape into meatballs, place on a plate, and freeze for 15 minutes (this step is optional).
Meanwhile, prepare the pie dough:
- beat the eggs in a bowl, whisk gently;
- add sour cream and mix well;
- finally, incorporate flour, baking powder, and salt, stirring until lump-free.
Pour the batter into a baking paper-lined tray.
Place meatballs on top, pressing lightly into the dough without immersing them excessively.
Top with grated cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 35-40 minutes.
It's ready when it turns golden brown. Allow it to cool thoroughly.
Remove the pie from the tray and slice it.
Serve with a salad or alone; it's exceptionally good and tender.
The dough is a standout and can be used for other pies.
Enjoy a slice of pie :)
Have a good appetite!
