This pie can be wonderfully personalized with various fillings. While the original recipe includes green onions and boiled eggs, feel free to experiment with ingredients like meat, cheese, spinach, or cabbage.
The dough is my favorite part; it's quick to make, requires no rolling, and you simply pour it into the tray. The result is a tender, soft, and delicious pie.
Let's start with the filling - in my version: green onion with tuna:
- Chop the onions and sauté them for 3-4 minutes in a pan with a bit of oil;
- Add the drained tuna and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Next, make the dough:
- Melt the butter, pour it into a large bowl, and add the salt and sugar;
- Incorporate the yogurt;
- Add eggs and mix well using a whisk or mixer;
- Finally, incorporate the flour and baking powder, mixing thoroughly;
The dough should have a consistency similar to thick cream.
Line a baking tray with baking paper - mine is 28 cm in diameter, but as it's silicone, I didn't use any paper.
Pour half of the dough into the tray and even it out with a spoon.
Spread the filling evenly over the dough base.
Pour the remaining dough over the filling, smoothing it out evenly.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 C degrees for 35-40 minutes.
Initially, I was worried as the dough cracked slightly and the camera didn't capture it well - just what you see here.
However, once the pie cooled, the cracks were no issue; it sliced perfectly.
Once cooled, cut the pie into portions and serve.
Enjoy your meal!
