Quinoa was a great discovery for me, and to be honest I had it in the drawer for a few months. I knew it was good, but it still seemed like a strange thing to me and we kept leaving it for later.
And a great pity! Such a miracle of cereal (it's actually a superfood), a healthy substitute for couscous in salads, side dishes - but also what nice desserts are mada.
The taste is quite neutral, if you boil it correctly, nothing strange and special, so I really recommend it!
This is what the Quinoa bags look like, I took it from the naturist type stores.
Measure the amount you want to boil, here 1 glass - pass it through a sieve and wash well under running cold tap water.
Wash well, because it has a substance on top that gives it a bitter taste, if you do not do this operation you will not be able to consume it.
Boil water - 2 glasses - possibly with a little salt.
When it starts to boil, add the quinoa and when it boils again, turn down the heat and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
It's ready when it absorbs all the water - kind of like rice.
I leave it for another half hour without fire and covered, so that it is less watery and grain by grain.
Use as a side dish, in salads like tabouleh, boiled with milk as a pudding, etc.
Good appetite!
