How to Cook Quinoa
Quinoa was an incredible discovery for me. Honestly, I had it stored away for months. I knew it was beneficial, but it seemed a bit unfamiliar, so I postponed trying it.
What a waste that was! This superfood is a fantastic substitute for couscous in salads and side dishes, and it even makes delightful desserts.
The flavor is quite mild, and if cooked properly, it offers nothing unusual or overpowering, making it highly recommended!

Step by step
Step 1
This is how the quinoa packages look, typically found in health food stores.
Step 2
Measure the desired amount, here it's 1 cup. Place it in a sieve and rinse thoroughly under cold running water.
Washing is essential to remove a bitter-tasting coating, ensuring it's palatable.
Step 3
Boil 2 cups of water, optionally with a bit of salt.
Once boiling, add the quinoa. When it returns to a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Step 4
It's done when it absorbs all the water, similar to rice.
Step 5
Let it sit covered for another half an hour off the heat to achieve a fluffier, grainy texture.
Use it as a side dish, in salads like tabbouleh, or even with milk as a pudding.
Enjoy your meal!
